Jönköping Municipality is a major employer with hundreds of different job roles. We are growing in line with the municipality's development, with more residents, more housing, and a wider range of services. We are always looking for new skills – employees with diverse backgrounds and experiences, united by the common drive to create a better municipality to visit, live, work, and reside in.
We are looking for you to join our Security and Preparedness Department – a coordinator who wants to protect what is most important in our society.
Your new job
Do you want to contribute to a safer society while protecting the welfare system from abuse?
We are now seeking an engaged and strategic coordinator for our Security and Preparedness Department. As a Welfare Coordinator, you will play a central role in developing and coordinating the municipality's work on protecting the welfare system.
You will join our Security and Preparedness Department, which currently has nine employees and is led by a department head. The work is carried out in close collaboration with other municipal departments and companies, as well as with other actors such as the Police, the County Administrative Board, the Region, and civil society.
Your contribution makes a difference – every day
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work proactively and stay one step ahead by identifying risks, understanding threat scenarios, and turning insights into concrete actions that make a real difference in people's daily lives. You will actively contribute to combating welfare fraud by safeguarding what is common to us all – strengthening structures, detecting irregularities, and ensuring that welfare resources reach the right recipients.
Through analysis, follow-up, and the development of effective working methods, you will help ensure that the municipality's resources are used correctly, legally, and sustainably. At the same time, you will be an important part of creating security for both residents and operations, where you build knowledge, drive collaboration, and develop long-term solutions that strengthen trust in society – today and in the future.
Responsibilities
You will function as a municipality-wide coordinator who keeps the work together – without creating unnecessary administration or new systems.
You will help set the direction for the municipality's work by developing smart, effective, and sustainable working methods – from policy to practical action. With sharp analysis and a strategic perspective, you will identify risks, drive improvements, and turn insights into concrete actions.
In close collaboration with other actors, you will be a key person in the work against welfare fraud.
You will contribute to stopping incorrect payments, countering undue influence, and ensuring that every tax krona is used correctly.
By supporting managers, spreading knowledge, and creating clear structures, you will strengthen the organization's ability to act correctly – from the first suspicion to implemented action. Your work makes a difference, both here and now and in the long term, by building trust, legal security, and a safer society.
