As a relief caregiver in the home, you take care of a child or young person with a disability to provide relief for the parents. The relief takes place in the home or the local area, and you can, for example, do crafts, watch movies, play games, or visit a playground nearby. During this time, parents can run errands, pursue their own activities, spend time with siblings, or simply rest.

As a personal assistant/escort, you support a person with a disability to get to and from activities, such as participating in leisure activities or otherwise taking part in community life.

Your tasks and working hours are determined based on the support needs of the user or family but are usually scheduled for afternoons, evenings, and weekends. The scope varies but is typically between 2–5 hours per week. You should intend to keep the assignment for a longer period, at least 6 months.
