Join Our Team at Sjöbo Municipality – School and Social Services
Our 1,300 employees play a vital role in the development and welfare of Sjöbo. We continuously strive to become a more attractive and equal employer, offering our staff a wide range of wellness benefits, smoke-free working hours, and flexible schedules where possible.
School and Social Services are undergoing an exciting and significant transformation due to the new Social Services Act. We are developing a more preventive, accessible, and knowledge-based operation where we meet residents early, close by, and with the right interventions at the right time. This is a journey of change that requires curiosity, engagement, and courage, while simultaneously offering opportunities to develop both work methods and professionalism. We are now looking for a Social Pedagogue who, together with colleagues in a School Social Team, wants to contribute to this development.
1 position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Sjöbo Municipality is launching School Social Teams and is now seeking a Social Pedagogue for the team. A School Social Team consists of professionals from schools and social services organized into smaller teams. This organization is a way for schools and social services to work together to strengthen the conditions for students to achieve educational goals and to increase student attendance. Through the School Social Team, social services increase their ability to work early with support for parents and families. The intervention complements the school's and student health services' work with students. The goal of the School Social Team is to increase student attendance, based on the task plan decided by the Family Board.
Your Assignment: Focus on Quality and Flexibility
As a Social Pedagogue in the School Social Team, you will work based on an overarching assignment. Since we are in a startup phase, you will have the opportunity to help develop work forms and methods. From a social pedagogical perspective, you will work supportively with students, guardians, and schools regarding problematic absenteeism. You will work in a team with another social pedagogue and a family therapist from the Open Care unit within Social Services. Together, you will work based on a prepared plan that is continuously followed up, evaluated, and concluded together with the relevant parties. The team will also work together and in close collaboration with student health professionals and/or other actors in the region, such as Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP) and the Child and Family Welfare Services (HAB).
As a Social Pedagogue in the School Social Team, you will become part of the Central Student Health unit with 18 engaged colleagues, including school psychologists, school nurses, school counselors, special educators, and language, reading, and writing developers. With us, you will meet a work group characterized by high competence, trust, participation, and a strong sense of "we." We believe in collaboration and creating value together for each other and for those we serve. We value well-being, job satisfaction, and an open climate. Together with Open Care, we are part of a joint Advice & Support Unit, which creates good conditions for coordinated and effective interventions.
QUALIFICATIONS
As a Social Pedagogue in the School Social Team, you must be a social worker or a social pedagogue with an equivalent level of education from a university college. The position requires great engagement and a belief and high expectations that all students can develop in school based on their conditions.
You have experience working in schools and knowledge about students in need of special support and students with problematic absenteeism. You are familiar with school governing documents and have experience implementing extra adaptations, knowing how to help all students achieve success in their learning. Since no two interventions are alike, flexibility, initiative, and good collaboration skills are required. Great importance is attached to personal suitability.
A driver's license is required.
Interviews will take place on April 23rd. The person offered the position must present an extract from the criminal register before an employment contract can be drawn up.
Salary form: Monthly salary.
Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Working hours: Daytime.
Employees are sought under the condition that the position does not have to be taken up by already employed personnel or persons with priority rights.
Before the recruitment process, Sjöbo Municipality has carefully considered recruitment channels and marketing. We therefore firmly decline contact with media sales representatives, recruitment websites, and similar.
We value the qualities that diversity and gender balance bring to the operation and therefore welcome applicants with different backgrounds and life experiences to the position.
About Sjöbo: Sjöbo is an expanding municipality in the middle of southern Skåne. Here live 19,500 residents who have easy access to varied nature and many different housing options to choose from.
