RESPONSIBILITIES

As a support pedagogist, you provide support and services to people with disabilities in all aspects of life. This may involve planning the week, managing the household, and accompanying individuals on leisure activities, such as going swimming or shopping in town. Your work may also include more practical support, such as personal care, medication administration, transfers, and exercise. Certain health and medical tasks require delegation from a nurse, and to be eligible for the position, you must be able to accept the necessary delegations for the work.

In addition, as a support pedagogist, you are expected to be responsible for planning and leading method meetings with the work team. You should promote the development of pedagogical work. You guide your colleagues in various pedagogical approaches and working methods and support the creation of pedagogical materials such as schedules, images, and job descriptions. You have great patience and are empathetic and engaged. You work in a solution-focused manner and find it meaningful to work with people in need of support. You are confident in yourself and have experience from various workplaces and professional roles. You have experience working with people with mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety disorders, self-harm behavior, and psychotic disorders, as well as experience working with people with challenging behaviors.

In the role of a support pedagogist, you have overall responsibility for establishing, following up on, and evaluating the implementation plan to ensure high quality in the user's services, as well as assisting your colleagues with social documentation. You raise events and situations for reflection based on pedagogical approaches and ethical guidelines. You plan, implement, evaluate, and analyze the pedagogical work and are expected to be able to translate theoretical knowledge into practical professional practice in collaboration with the work team. You focus on and have the ability to see the individual, working in a health-promoting and developmental manner based on the user's own will and ability.

The work involves placement in residential care operating 24 hours a day. This implies duty during the day, evening, and weekends, as well as on-call duty during the night when applicable.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Post-secondary specialization in the disability field, such as a Support Pedagogist education (200 university college credits) or at least 60 university credits in the field of operation (e.g., disability studies, behavioral science, pedagogy).
• Good knowledge of disabilities and extensive professional experience in disability support/LSS.
• Good pedagogical insight, ability to collaborate, and experience in mentoring.
• Good computer skills and experience with documentation.
• Good ability to understand and express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish.
• Class B driver's license.
