Case Officer for Equitable Food Control
Do you want to contribute to a more equitable food control system in Sweden while supporting businesses in doing the right thing? With us, you will have a varied role where development, collaboration, and communication are at the center.
Your Role
As a Case Officer, you will drive development work related to equitable food control in Sweden. You will lead and participate in assignments focused on strengthening coordination, management, and follow-up of control activities, as well as developing support for both control authorities and businesses.
Your tasks include participating in the development of guidelines, training materials, and communication initiatives, such as texts, presentations, webinars, and e-learning courses. You will also give lectures and represent the authority in various forums. Furthermore, you will work on developing support within control methodology and contribute to a more uniform application of food legislation.
You will both lead and participate in various projects. The work also involves answering inquiries, reviewing public consultations, and industry guidelines. Travel may be required.
You will support and collaborate with your colleagues on various assignments and projects within the unit and department. Together, you will take responsibility for the unit's common assignments, resources, and target group needs. You will make thoughtful prioritizations in your work and deliver according to set goals. You will monitor the external environment to gain new perspectives, maintain relevant competence, and adapt your work to the organization's requirements and conditions.
The Unit for Management of Food Control
We are a unit with nine employees working to coordinate, lead, and follow up on Sweden's food control. The unit's mandate includes developing national coordination, leadership, and management of food control in Sweden. The goal is uniform application, more risk-based control, and effective follow-up. We work by strengthening collaboration between control authorities and further developing the follow-up of control activities.
Facilitating businesses to do the right thing is one of the Swedish Food Agency's prioritized goals. We support control authorities and other relevant actors within our area of responsibility.
Your Competence
- We are looking for someone with an academic degree relevant to the position, preferably with a focus on natural sciences.
- You must have at least three years of current experience in public food control and good knowledge of food legislation.
- You have experience presenting and giving lectures to large groups.
- It is an advantage if you have experience working at food companies. Experience in project management or driving development work, for example within digitalization or system support, is also an advantage.
- You have good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.

Furthermore, you have good analytical skills, can handle several parallel tasks, and have the ability to see both the big picture and the details. You are proactive, curious, and actively contribute to development and results.
