Support Assistant to Televägen 1

YOUR ROLE

As a support assistant, you will work to support and help individuals based on their individual needs, wishes, and conditions. The work is based on implementation plans and is carried out with clarifying pedagogy, structure, and a professional approach.

In this role, you will meet individuals who need security, predictability, and a calm approach. The work may involve situations where anxiety or affect occurs, which requires you to work preventively, maintain calm, and use low-affect approaches. You assist and support in various everyday situations with respect, attentiveness, and stability. The work involves close collaboration with colleagues to create a safe and functioning whole around the individual.

Two of the positions are night shifts (awake nights) and five of the positions involve work during the day, on-call, and every other weekend. Night work will be introduced only after you have become familiar with the organization and the residents.

YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for someone with a high school education in health and care or the child and leisure program with a focus on pedagogical or social work, or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent. You have experience in work where support, service, adaptation, and a professional approach have been central parts of the mission.

You have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form and can communicate clearly as well as document in your work. A passing grade in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1 is a requirement, as well as the physical ability to perform the tasks included in the assignment.

You have knowledge and understanding of disabilities and how these can affect an individual's everyday life. You work systematically and consciously in your interactions with people and have experience with low-affect approaches. You can adapt your approach based on different needs and situations.

Experience working with individuals with disabilities, mental health issues, or substance abuse is meritorious, as is experience with clarifying pedagogical methods. You are confident in yourself, can maintain calm in challenging situations, and contribute to a good collaborative climate. Knowledge of Finnish, Sámi, or sign language is meritorious.

YOUR NEW WORKPLACE

Televägen 1 is a smaller and cohesive organization where several residents live in the same building. The organization is characterized by close collaboration, clear structures, and shared responsibility in everyday life.

The work focuses on preventive measures through relationship-building, structure, and a common approach within the staff group. Everyday life can be both calm and active, with joint activities and daily chores. Meals such as lunch and dinner are prepared together, and everyone in the workgroup helps out.

The organization is in a startup phase. The workgroup will consist of about ten employees who together staff the organization around the clock. Collaboration is characterized by close dialogue, shared responsibility, and continuity as a foundation.

GOOD TO KNOW

The position is subject to a requirement for a background check according to the law. Before a possible job offer, you must present an extract from the criminal record for work with elderly persons or persons with disabilities. You are responsible for ordering the correct extract from the Police Authority.
