Support Staff for Godemansvägen 40

The Disability Care Service in Umeå Municipality aims to be a resource that liberates and strengthens people's ability to live an independent life through closeness and interaction.

Godemansvägen 40 is a group home according to LSS, focused on individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Here, six residents live in their own apartments, with access to shared spaces such as a kitchen and living room for social interaction and community.

We are now looking for a new colleague to join our team!

Your Responsibilities

As support staff, you will assist residents in their daily lives with approved services such as meals, cleaning, laundry, personal care, transfers, and planning and participation in activities. Your working method is characterized by flexibility, continuity, and security. You provide individual, social, and practical support to enable and utilize the residents' own abilities, thereby creating conditions for independence. You work to make the individual involved in their daily life and have a meaningful leisure time and/or occupation. The work also includes documentation, record-keeping, working with implementation plans, and medication management.

Heavy lifting and situations involving threats and violence may occur in the workplace. Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, on-call combinations (sleeping night), and weekends. Coordination with other services may occur.

About You

As a person, you have a good ability to collaborate and maintain a professional demeanor towards residents, relatives, and other stakeholders around our residents. You are committed and have a desire to share our values and work towards set goals and continuous improvements. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent care and nursing education
• Experience working within LSS
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form, to access care documentation and receive medication delegation

Meritorious

• Trained nursing assistant, care assistant, social worker, or other educational background deemed relevant by the employer
• Experience with clarifying pedagogy, visual support, and/or TAKK
• Experience in cooking
• Experience with documentation and implementation plans
• Swim competent
