Description

Akalla School is a two-parallel municipal F-9 school with approximately 535 students and 105 staff members. Akalla School also includes Järva's regional special education groups.

We work extensively with a team-teaching model in grades 1-9. We have opportunities to utilize the large green areas around Järvafältet and Akalla village both during school hours and after school. The school is conveniently located near public transportation.

We are a multicultural school and strive to use language-developing methods that benefit our students.

Our school focuses on internationalization efforts that promote the development of both students and staff. Since 2024, the school has been accredited for Erasmus+ and has an ongoing project with a school in Spain that includes an exchange trip.

The school actively works on value-based education, including violence prevention, using the Mentors in Violence Prevention (MVP) method in grades 4-5 and 7-8.

We are now looking for a certified teacher qualified to teach English and Mathematics in grades 4-6.

Your New Job

As a certified teacher, you will teach English to students in all classes in grades 4-6 and also teach Mathematics in grade 4 alongside a colleague. In your teaching, you are responsible for content, planning, implementation, and assessment. You have experience working with multilingual students and using language-developing approaches. You have experience with formative assessment and current teaching experience.

You adapt your teaching to the needs of the students and have good experience working with students with various disabilities. It is important that you can create good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues, and that you can and want to collaborate closely with other staff members at the school for the benefit of the students. Furthermore, we also see that you, as an applicant, have a good ability to take personal responsibility and initiative.
