We are now looking for a teacher in home economics for teaching grades 5–9.

Description

As a teacher in home economics, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the teaching based on the curriculum goals and the school's governing documents. You work to create a safe and inspiring learning environment where students develop practical skills, subject knowledge, and a critical approach to consumption, personal finance, and sustainable lifestyles. The role also includes collaborating with colleagues in work teams, communicating with guardians, and participating in the school's systematic quality work.

Your tasks will include:

  • Planning and implementing teaching in home economics for grades 5–9 based on the syllabus and local goals.

  • Adapting teaching to meet students' different conditions and needs, including special support and formative assessment.

  • Creating safe and clear classroom routines with a focus on work peace, safety, and responsibility during practical moments.

  • Collaborating in work teams, participating in teacher meetings, and contributing to the school's development work and subject collaborations.

  • Following up and documenting students' knowledge development and communicating continuously with guardians.

  • Using digital tools to support planning, teaching, and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Teacher's degree with qualifications to teach home economics in grades 5–9 or equivalent education and experience.

  • Teaching license required.

  • Good ability to plan, instruct, and assess according to current governing documents.

  • Experience in practical teaching and managing kitchen and practical moments in school is an advantage.

  • Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as the ability to communicate with students and guardians.

Personal qualities

  • Engaged and relationship-building with the ability to create trust and safety among students.

  • Structured and confident in classroom leadership.

  • Flexible and collaborative, willing to contribute to the school's pedagogical development.

  • Interested in sustainability, food knowledge, and personal finance, as well as working integrated across subjects.

The position starts by agreement. Employment is in accordance with the applicable collective agreement.
