Do you want to be part of a creative and engaged team that works to provide every child with a safe, fun, and meaningful summer? Do you also want to develop both in your pedagogical role and as a person? Then apply for the position of resource person at our summer camp Udden, which serves approximately 55 children aged 9–12 years.

Job Responsibilities

As a resource person at Udden, you are responsible for providing individually tailored support to children aged 9–12 years. The role involves being close to the children who need extra structure, clarity, guidance, or security in various situations throughout the day. The support needs can vary from day to day and also change during different parts of the summer. Some periods require more presence and adjustment, while other periods allow for more independence.

When the support needs are less, or not applicable, you participate in and are responsible for planning and conducting activities together with other leaders. The role thus combines individually tailored support with a shared responsibility for the content and implementation of the program.

The summer camp operates around the clock, meaning that both children and staff live and spend time together throughout the entire period. Children and staff do not share accommodation. You live and work at the summer camp with the children and colleagues, and therefore need to feel comfortable being away from home for at least six weeks.

A central part of the role is to recognize and meet each child's individual needs in an inclusive and respectful manner. This can involve creating predictability in daily life, supporting in social contexts, adapting activities, or being available as a conversation partner. The goal is for all children to feel safe, included, and seen.

To succeed in this role, you need to be confident in yourself and your leadership, able to set clear boundaries while also being responsive and flexible.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who has a genuine interest in working closely with children and who sees the value in adapting your approach according to the individual's needs and current situation. You understand that children's circumstances can vary over time and that good support is built on patience, structure, and relationship-building.

You are a stable and present adult who can combine clarity with warmth. You have a desire to contribute both in individual support and in the collective effort to create a meaningful and enjoyable program for the entire group.

Personal Qualities

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Responsible
  • Solution-focused
  • Structured and organized
  • Punctual
  • Initiative-taking and creative
  • Clear and confident in your boundary-setting
  • Good at collaborating
  • Confident in yourself and in your pedagogical role

It is important that you can give and receive feedback and have a desire to develop both the program and yourself together with us. You need to be flexible and resilient, as the work shifts can be long and intense. The role also requires you to switch between working closely with an individual and taking responsibility in larger group contexts.

We value humor, engagement, and good social skills.

Experience

We would like you to have a strong interest in outdoor life or experience in outdoor pedagogy, as most of the activities are conducted outdoors. Examples of activities include hiking, raft building, games, swimming, and outdoor cooking. We also offer creative activities such as theater, dance, and singing. Disco, football tournaments, and themed days are also part of the summer.

Experience working with children in need of special support, or adapting activities based on individual circumstances, is particularly meritorious. Experience as a leisure educator or similar pedagogical role is also valuable.

Meritorious Experiences/Competencies

  • Camp or summer camp experience
  • Outdoor life
  • Healthcare
  • Canoeing
  • Theater
  • Singing and music
  • Sports and athletics
  • Cooking
