Maria Elementary School is looking for a teacher for our textile handicrafts. We are a traditional primary school that values good order, respect for craftsmanship, and a safe study environment.

About the school

Maria Elementary School was founded in 1875 and is thus one of Sweden's oldest independent schools. We are run by a non-profit foundation and are a F–9 school located in Södermalm with approximately 360 students and an associated after-school program. Our school is characterized by a focus on knowledge acquisition combined with a strong interest in cultural elements and the health of our students.

About the position

As a teacher in textile handicrafts, you will have full responsibility for teaching the subject. You will plan and conduct lessons that provide students with good knowledge in textile handicrafts, from basic sewing to more creative projects and the theory related to the field.

Your responsibilities include:

Teaching textile handicrafts according to the current curriculum. Responsibility for order and safety in the handicraft room. Planning projects tailored to students' maturity and abilities. Administrative responsibility for material purchases and the equipment in the room.

We are primarily looking for a certified teacher, but we highly value long experience and good pedagogical skills. We seek a person who is confident in their teaching role and understands the importance of being a clear role model for students.
