Engaged Teachers Wanted at Saltsjöbaden Samskola

Do you have a genuine interest in providing students with the best conditions to achieve their goals? Do you want to be part of developing the school of the future while combining teaching with participation in exciting research projects? Then Samskolan in Saltsjöbaden might be right for you!

Saltsjöbaden's Samskola runs a successful operation with a strong focus on ensuring that all our students succeed.

We work based on a pedagogical model characterized by varied teaching, clarity regarding goals and assessment, and trusting relationships between adults and students.

We are now looking for two confident, creative, and committed teachers qualified to teach grades F-3. The positions are full-time starting in August. One position is a fixed-term employment ending in December 2026, and the other is a temporary employment ending in June 2027. There may be a possibility for extension.

Your Mission

In the role of class teacher in one of the school's three preschool classes, you will teach students in Swedish, mathematics, English, art, science, and social studies. You are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching in your subjects based on the curriculum. You adapt the teaching based on students' needs, interests, and conditions. You follow up, assess, and document students' knowledge development. The assignment includes mentorship for a preschool class. You are responsible for creating trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. To create the right conditions for students, close collaboration with the school's leisure staff, student coach, other teachers, student health team, and if necessary, the special education team is required.

The role involves close collegial collaboration in both teacher and grade working groups. Two other class teachers in preschool class work at the school. You meet weekly and collaborate regarding students, planning, assessment, pedagogical development work, and systematic quality work.

At Saltsjöbaden's Samskola, every student should have the opportunity to develop their full potential. To achieve this, we need the very best teachers. Therefore, we expect all our teachers to:

  • Take responsibility for and have insight into students' results by being attentive to each student's conditions and needs.
  • Have high expectations of students and their ability to develop.
  • Use varied working methods in teaching, including collaborative methods.
  • Capture and stimulate students' curiosity, interest, and learning - making them active participants in the teaching.
  • Take responsibility for their own professional development to grow and evolve in their profession.

Your Experience

For this position, you are required to have:

  • Teaching certification with broad subject qualifications for grades F-3
  • Good digital competence with experience in using digital pedagogical tools
  • Good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

It is advantageous if you also have:

  • Experience working as a teacher within F-3
  • Experience in mentorship
  • Certification in PAX
  • Experience working with students in need of extra adaptations and special support.

Is This You?

To succeed in the role, you need both the interest and ability to collaborate, communicate, and create good relationships with students, guardians, colleagues, and school leaders. You plan, organize, and prioritize your work clearly and effectively while setting and adhering to timelines. You are confident in independently driving your teaching forward but also have the ability to ask for support when needed. In the classroom, you have a clear, structured, and responsive teaching leadership, where you confidently motivate, engage, and guide students forward. As a preschool class teacher, you also need to be creative - both in your teaching and in your way of sparking interest, creating engagement, and finding solutions. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
