What does the unit do?

The unit works for the development and dissemination of knowledge in the ANDTS area (alcohol, drugs, doping, tobacco and nicotine products, and gambling).

We do this, among other things, by compiling, analyzing, and disseminating knowledge about the use and harms of ANDTS, and how effective preventive work can be conducted.

We work for national coordination in the ANDTS area. The purpose of the coordination is, among other things, to support the implementation of the ANDTS policy and to contribute to dialogue, collaboration, and exchange of experiences among actors whose activities are important for reducing the use and harms of ANDTS.

The unit produces materials and reports to the EU, UN, WHO, and other international bodies and is a contact point for the European Union Drug Agency (EUDA).

Our main target groups are county administrative boards and municipalities, but also regions, authorities, and civil society.
