Region Stockholm has the overall responsibility to ensure that everyone living in or visiting the region has access to a well-developed, easily accessible, and reliable public transport system. The mission of the Traffic Administration (TF) is to prepare and implement decisions regarding the direction and scope for a long-term sustainable public transport system. In addition, we are responsible for the management and monitoring of traffic operations as well as maintaining the functionality, safety, and value of the infrastructure. Every day, more than 700,000 people travel using public transport, including the subway, buses, commuter trains, and local trains.

About the Assignment

The subway section is looking for an experienced project manager with expertise in radio communication systems in vehicles. As the project manager for vehicle installations within radio communication systems, you will lead the concrete technology shift for vehicles and terminals. You are responsible for ensuring that the right equipment is procured and installed, as well as ensuring that the transition occurs smoothly, sustainably, and in close dialogue with both vehicle projects and suppliers. This is a role for you who want to lead projects operationally but also take strategic responsibility in one of our most socially significant technology shifts. Project managers need to have the ability to plan, lead, engage, and coordinate a project organization in complex contexts. You work in a structured manner and adapt your communication based on different recipients. You lead your projects in a businesslike manner by creating and maintaining good relationships, both with internal and external contacts. To perform the tasks, the ability to communicate in advanced technical English, both spoken and written, is required. The main tasks are:

• Develop and further refine a detailed project plan with timelines, budgets, and resource plans
• Lead and coordinate work between internal teams, suppliers, and other stakeholders
• Manage requirements and ensure that the project meets effect goals
• Report project status to management, steering group, and stakeholders, and manage risks
• Ensure compliance with project management methods and standards
• Drive and be responsible for procurements
• Drive and be responsible for investigations
• Manage contracts and coordinate any revisions or negotiations

The role requires high competence and experience primarily in:

• Project management
• Train radio
• Integration of systems on rail vehicles

Competence Requirements

We see that you have experience and that it is clearly stated in your CV that you have:

• Master's degree in a relevant field or 7 years of professional experience in technical development projects (infrastructure, technology, systems, vehicles, etc.)
• At least 5 years of documented experience in project management with primary responsibility for at least 1 project with complex content (such as many interfaces, integration between multiple systems, complex implementations) with cross-functional teams through several project phases. (With responsibility for time, budget, risk, delivery, etc.) For the experience to be valid, it must not have been more than two years since it was last applied in the relevant field.
• At least 5 years of documented experience in radio communication (TETRA, LTE, 5G, or equivalent radio communication solutions). For the experience to be valid, it must not have been more than two years since it was last applied in the relevant field.
• At least 2 years of documented experience working with contracts in a public organization, including responsibility for the establishment, monitoring, extension, and/or amendment management of contracts.
• At least 2 years of documented experience with requirement specification and procurement work (documented experience of working on projects conducted according to LOU/LUF) from a public organization.

Value-Added Requirements

• At least 2 years of documented experience in vehicle installations (work with installation and integration of technical equipment in rail vehicles, buses, cars, ferries such as communication equipment, antennas, IT systems, and similar).

Assignment Information

Assignment period: 21/4 2026 - 2/7 2027

Extension option: 1+1+1+1+1 years.

Scope: 50%, i.e., 20h/week
