Material Maintenance Section

The Material Maintenance Section is part of the Logistics Unit at the Air Defense Regiment, Lv 6. The section performs maintenance on the Armed Forces' ground equipment at Halmstad Garrison. This includes maintenance in the form of inspections, repairs, operational support, and material examination. It is carried out both in workshop environments and in field environments.

Main Responsibilities

As a partsman, you will work on ensuring and quality-assuring the basis for the supply of spare parts within the section, as well as determining whether spare parts, individual components, replacement units, etc., should be procured through internal or external actors. Your work also includes searching for and ordering materials, performing goods handling, as well as inventory management, inventory follow-up, and inventory care. You will also participate in activities aimed at maintaining your general soldier skills.

The position requires a high level of technical understanding, accuracy in work performance, and good problem-solving skills. You are both analytical and service-oriented.

Qualifications

• Approved military basic training
• Training on AK5
• Driver's license B
• Approved upper secondary education preferably in technology, but alternatively other orientation, education, or work experience that the employer assesses as equivalent.

Meritorious

• Competence in the sought position, competence in technical service in the Armed Forces.
• Military driver's licenses in various categories for trucks, trailers, wheel loaders, forklifts, minibuses, etc.
• Civil C & CE driver's license.
• Platoon leader or group leader trained in the Armed Forces.

The employment form for continuously employed group leaders or soldiers (GSS/K) has a duration of eight years with the possibility of extension for another four years, totaling 12 years. The employment begins with a six-month probationary period during which physical requirements and the requirement for a B driver's license will be set for continued employment.

Preliminary start for employment is 2026-07-01 or according to individual agreement.

The Air Defense operates on the ground and is part of the army but often collaborates with the Air Force. The Air Defense monitors the airspace with mobile sensors (such as radar), detects threats, and protects important objects and operations from attacks from the air through combat with missiles. The two air defense battalions included in the operational defense are trained and kept on standby by the Air Defense Regiment.
