Material Maintenance Section

The Material Maintenance Section is part of the Logistics Unit at the Air Defense Regiment, Lv 6. The section performs maintenance on the Armed Forces' ground equipment at Halmstad Garrison. This includes maintenance in the form of inspections, repairs, operational support, and material investigations. Maintenance is carried out both in workshop environments and in field conditions.

Main Responsibilities

As GSS/K at the Material Maintenance Section, you will primarily work with troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of vehicles and communication equipment in both workshop and field environments. You will also engage in activities aimed at maintaining your general soldier skills. The position requires a high level of technical understanding and skill, as well as good initiative and teamwork abilities.

As a group leader or mechanic, you will have a focus on a specific area and a material-specific system. This means that you will primarily work within a certain technical area, based on your fundamental competencies and interests. For example, you may work as a system mechanic in the communication field, vehicle mechanic, or electrical power mechanic. As a group leader, you will have a broader overall responsibility, in addition to practical work, including follow-up, documentation, planning, and team leadership at the group level.

Qualifications

Approved military basic training

Training on AK5

Driver's license B

Approved secondary education, preferably in technology, but alternatively other orientations, education, or work experience that the employer deems equivalent.

Meritorious

Competence in the applied position, competence in technical service in the Armed Forces.

Military driving licenses in various categories for trucks, trailers, wheel loaders, forklifts, minibuses, etc.

Civil C & CE driver's license.

Platoon or group leader trained in the Armed Forces.

The employment form for continuously employed group leaders or soldiers (GSS/K) has a duration of eight years with the possibility of extension for another four years, totaling 12 years. The employment begins with a six-month probationary period during which physical requirements and the requirement for a B driver's license will be assessed for continued employment.

Preliminary start date for employment is 2026-07-01 or by individual agreement.
