Linux-focused IT Technician Wanted at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service

The Datacenter group is a team consisting of IT technicians, system managers, and Technical Architects. We are responsible for the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's server solutions, virtualization, and surrounding systems. The agency is undergoing significant expansion, and we need to plan for an environment that meets both today's and tomorrow's requirements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for a new colleague to strengthen our server team in the Linux-based area. We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Linux technician with the ambition to develop to support and maintain our servers and surrounding support systems. As a technical architect, you will be responsible for ensuring that the server environment operates correctly and efficiently for our users. You will also be responsible for developing new features and services related to the Linux environment as requested by the organization. You will work closely with other team members and external partners to solve technical problems and implement improvements in the system.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

• A degree preferably in computer science, information systems, or another education combined with experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant
• Several years of experience in Linux server administration, including extensive installation, configuration, and maintenance
• Experience in performing in-depth troubleshooting on software and hardware for servers
• Experience working with central configuration management for Linux
• Experience working with container solutions in Linux contexts
• Experience with version control systems, e.g., DevOps
• Basic knowledge of networking and communication technology: TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, and security principles
• The ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish and English

It is advantageous if you have:

• Education in specific IT infrastructure areas, e.g., product training that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant
• Certifications in Linux
• Training in ITIL
• Experience with various Linux distributions
• Experience working with security technical issues
• Experience in enterprise IT environments
• Experience with process-driven work (ITIL)
• Experience writing and maintaining technical documentation
