We are looking for a committed and solution-oriented OT engineer who wants to develop, operate, and secure our industrial systems and our OT network. You will work closely with production and be responsible for ensuring that our critical systems operate stably, safely, and efficiently.

In this role, you will collaborate with automation, IT, production, and maintenance – becoming an important player in strengthening our digital and industrial development.

Your main tasks will include:

• As an OT engineer, you will work with:
• Operation, development, and maintenance of OT networks, servers, and industrial applications
• Safety work in OT environments (patching, vulnerability scanning, segmentation, follow-up)
• Support for production and maintenance in troubleshooting and problem-solving
• Lifecycle management of industrial systems and hardware
• Documentation of networks, systems, and components
• Participating in and driving projects related to OT, digitalization, and cyber security
• Collaboration with suppliers, integrators, and internal functions

As an OT engineer with us, you will work alongside colleagues to ensure high availability and operational reliability in our production environment.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you have:

• Relevant post-secondary education in IT/OT security or a similar field.
• Alternatively, work experience that Billerud considers equivalent.
• Experience in OT environments, automation, or industrial IT systems
• Knowledge of networks (switches, firewalls, VLAN, segmentation)
• Understanding of industrial protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC, Profinet)
• Good system understanding and experience troubleshooting complex environments
• Experience with Windows Server/clients and virtual environments (VMware/Hyper-V)

Preferred:

• Experience with OT security tools (e.g., Nozomi, Claroty, Tenable.ot)
• Experience in process industry or other heavy industry
• Certifications in networking or IT security
• Interest in cyber security within industry
