The unit works for the development and dissemination of knowledge in the ANDTS area (alcohol, narcotics, doping, tobacco and nicotine products, and gambling).
We do this, among other things, by compiling, analyzing, and disseminating knowledge about the use and harms of ANDTS, and how effective preventive work can be conducted.
We work for national coordination in the ANDTS area. The purpose of the coordination is, among other things, to support the implementation of ANDTS policy and to contribute to dialogue, collaboration, and exchange of experiences between actors whose activities are significant for reducing the use and harms of ANDTS.
The unit prepares materials and reports to the EU, UN, WHO, and other international bodies and serves as a contact point for the European Union's drug agency (EUDA).
