Are you an archivist interested in working with digital preservation within the city of Gothenburg? Then we have the position for you!

As an archivist with a primary focus on digital preservation, you will participate in most tasks related to digital preservation, such as ensuring information quality in data exports from supplier systems, structuring and packaging archive packages, and developing xml/xsd schemas according to established standards. In connection with exports, you will work closely with management leaders, system administrators, and suppliers, and you may need to produce preservation and disposal investigations that result in a preservation report and the development of preservation and disposal submissions. You may also need to drive and support management leaders in the work of developing preservation plans.

This is a consulting assignment starting on 2026-04-15 and will continue until 2026-12-31, with a chance of extension for up to 1 year. The work is primarily performed on-site at the client's premises, but there is also the possibility of remote work.

Responsibilities

• Ensure information quality in data exports from supplier systems, structure and package archive packages, and develop xml/xsd schemas according to established standards.
• Work closely with management leaders, system administrators, and suppliers.
• Produce preservation and disposal investigations that result in a preservation report and the development of preservation and disposal submissions.
• Drive and support management leaders in the work of developing preservation plans.

Qualifications

• Completed education in archival science or equivalent education, at least 1 year.
• At least 1 year of experience in producing preservation and disposal investigations for information in IT systems.
• At least 1 year of experience in producing preservation plans and/or preservation investigations/reports according to the Regional Archive's guidelines.
• At least 2 years of documented experience in packaging archive packages.
• At least 2 years of documented experience in developing domain specifications such as xml/xsd schemas.
