The Mammography Department provides the residents of Dalarna with access to high-quality breast diagnostics. The department has 21 employees of various categories such as radiologists, radiographers, general nurses, nursing assistants, and two medical secretaries. The department performs approximately 42,000 examinations each year; mammography screenings and clinical investigations.

The Mammography Department is part of the Radiology Clinic and operates throughout Dalarna, with the clinical activities based in Falun, while health checks are conducted in Borlänge and Mora. Breast Radiologist/Radiologist, ST Mammography Imaging and Functional Medicine Job Responsibilities

The operations are conducted on the tenth floor of Falu Hospital with a fantastic view over Falun. We work closely with surgeons, pathologists, and the MRI section. We collaborate to offer residents the best possible care, ensuring that the entire patient journey from investigation to diagnosis and follow-up provides patients with security during the more challenging times in life. Dalarna needs you who want to work in and develop breast diagnostics - you will have great opportunities to grow, influence, and truly make a difference.

We are now looking for a breast radiologist for our operations in Falun. The job responsibilities at the Mammography Department include mammography screening with double review by two breast radiologists and clinical investigations that make up the majority of your position. As a senior physician in the mammography department, you will be responsible for independently investigating clinical patients using methods such as tomosynthesis, ultrasound, and biopsies of various types, including stereotactic and tomosynthesis-guided vacuum biopsies. You will also perform preoperative indications of tumors, lead or participate in multidisciplinary conferences, and supervise ST doctors. We also perform breast MRI in Region Dalarna and therefore value MRI competence in candidates. You will have significant contact with patients and collaborate with other staff in the breast process. Your closest colleagues will include breast radiologists, radiographers/registered nurses, nursing assistants, and administrative staff. Since you will work closely with your colleagues, it is important for us that you have good collaboration skills. We work in RIS/PACS from Sectra.

We are looking for someone who is a specialist in medical radiology or who is at the end of their residency and has an interest in breast radiology. We expect you to have good collaboration skills, be meticulous, and possess sound clinical judgment. You see it as natural to take responsibility for training future colleagues. You have the ability to work independently but also enjoy collaborating in a smaller team. We place high demands on your willingness and motivation to perform your work in a high-quality and efficient manner and seek someone who can help maintain our high standards and contribute to the development of our operations.
