The Clinic for Geriatrics and Rehabilitation Medicine is part of the Division of Medicine. The operation consists of inpatient care in Falun and outpatient care in Falun and Borlänge, with a total of about 135 employees at the clinic.

We provide care in geriatrics and rehabilitation medicine, where we have a county assignment in several areas. Our most common target groups are patients with stroke or acquired brain injury, spinal cord injuries, and individuals with memory impairment/dementia.

We have a good atmosphere and cohesion in the workplace. Work is conducted in multiprofessional teams where we highly value a person-centered approach. Our strength lies in the collaboration of our various professional competencies across boundaries to provide patients with high-quality care. At the clinic, social workers, psychologists, nurses, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, doctors, and medical secretaries work together.

There are three psychologist positions, one of which is now to be re-recruited. You will primarily work at the outpatient clinic, but some assignments on the ward may occur.

Psychologist/PTP psychologist Geriatrics and Rehabilitation Medicine Falun Job Responsibilities

The psychologist's primary task is neuropsychological assessments to evaluate the impact of injury or illness. The psychologist also plays an important role in teamwork to understand and treat cognitive, personality, and emotional difficulties, as well as to determine how these may affect the rehabilitation process. Our knowledge and assessment form the basis for providing insight and planning interventions during the rehabilitation period. The educational aspect of the assessment is important both for the patient, relatives, and others in the team. Treatment work occurs in various forms, for example, for emotional processing after life changes and in the form of structured cognitive rehabilitation.

Additional InformationQualifications

Requirements:

  • Licensed psychologist/Psychology degree

Meritorious:

  • Experience and knowledge in neuropsychology and rehabilitation medicine.

You have the ability to work independently as well as good collaboration skills. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
