Mora Hospital is an emergency hospital where we work day and night in the heart of the action. The catchment area has about 90,000 residents, which doubles with tourism in both summer and winter. The medical clinic consists of two wards with around 40 available beds. Our clinics and units include a hematology clinic, a nephrology clinic with dialysis services, as well as diabetes/endocrinology, outpatient clinic for outpatient procedures/quick follow-ups, cardiology, and gastroenterology clinics. The clinic is Spur-reviewed, and we work with continuous improvements. The medical clinic shares the emergency department/AVA and ICU with the surgical and orthopedic clinics. Here, various professionals work together for the best patient care, and it is important to be flexible in both thought and action.

As a specialist physician in internal medicine with us, you will have a varied and stimulating job where you contribute to the development of internal medicine care in Mora. Your main responsibilities include:

• Ward work
  • Medical responsibility for inpatients in our medical ward.
  • Daily teamwork with nurses, nursing assistants, paramedics, and other specialists.
  • Assessment, investigation, and treatment of patients with a wide range of internal medical issues.
  • Supervision of ST physicians, AT physicians, and other colleagues in the team.
• Outpatient work
  • Planned outpatient activities within internal medicine, such as follow-up of chronic diseases, investigations, and consultations.
  • Opportunities for subspecialization depending on competence and the needs of the operation. Currently, there is a high demand for cardiologists and gastroenterologists.
  • Participation in improvement work and development of outpatient flows.
• On-call and standby duties
  • Participation in the clinic's on-call line and/or backup on-call line with responsibility for acute internal medical assessments in the emergency department.
  • Consultation support to other clinics during on-call hours.
  • Work in a well-functioning on-call team with experienced colleagues and good support.

Requirements

• Licensed physician with specialist competence in internal medicine.
• Good clinical experience in internal medicine management in both acute and planned settings.
• Ability to work independently and make medical decisions even in pressured situations.
• Good communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written.
• Interest in teamwork and a professional approach towards patients, relatives, and colleagues.

Meritorious

• Experience in on-call work within internal medicine or related specialties.
• Experience in outpatient work and follow-up of chronic internal medical conditions.
• Interest in or experience in supervising ST, AT, and medical students.
• Experience in improvement work, quality work, or development projects within healthcare.
• Any subspecialization or particular area of interest within internal medicine (e.g., cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, pulmonology).
• Experience from another regional hospital.
