The main task of the IT department is to provide IT services to the entire Police Authority and is an important part of the crime prevention and law enforcement work. IT is one of the most important tools for streamlining the police and improving the quality of police work. Therefore, the authority invests heavily in strengthening the department with new specialist skills and the latest technology for the benefit of citizens and employees in the police operations.

The section works with maintaining, supplying, and developing specialist functions such as intervention units, covert coercive measures, bomb protection, police aviation, dog operations, the Police Cavalry, the Coast Guard, etc. This area is one of the Police Authority's highest priority areas, and we are looking for someone who wants to contribute to a highly relevant, exciting, and important mission.

Job Description

The group works to introduce, develop, and manage technical capabilities in the area of drones. The systems are largely Linux-based, where you will be responsible for ensuring operations, which includes system maintenance and configuration, such as installation and troubleshooting of hardware and software and evaluation of new technology.

We work closely with the operational police activities where you will play an important role in creating an understanding of the needs and challenges of the police, and then translating these into technical solutions.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• Relevant post-secondary education in IT or equivalent experience deemed equivalent by the Police Authority
• Several years of relevant work experience in the operation and/or system administration of Linux-based systems
• Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing
• Good ability to express yourself in English, both orally and in writing
• Swedish citizenship

It is meritorious if you also have knowledge in one or more of the following areas:

• Container technology, such as Docker, OpenShift, or Kubernetes
• Development tools, such as Jenkins, Bitbucket, or Nexus
• Scripting languages such as Python or bash
• Automation such as Ansible or similar
• VPN Wireguard

Personal Qualities

As a system administrator, you will be involved in various types of assignments of different character, so we value that you are adaptable and can shift focus when the work requires it.

You are a team player who finds it easy to collaborate and is communicative, able to handle many contact points as you will have extensive dialogue with other operations within the authority. Furthermore, we see that you are driven with a desire to develop and share your own expertise.
