Kungälv's Child and Student Health, Support Unit, works on behalf of the municipality's preschools, primary schools, and educational care.

The unit consists of psychologists, social workers (10), school nurses, speech therapists, special educators with cross-municipal assignments, and attendance teams. As a school social worker, you work on behalf of the principal and in collaboration with the local student health teams.

Kungälv's Child and Student Health also has an important function regarding competency-enhancing efforts within primary schools. In the support unit, we have broad expertise and value interdisciplinary collaboration. With us, you will work with engaged colleagues and contribute to and develop the school social work.

Responsibilities

As a school social worker in Kungälv, you have the opportunity to influence the school and future of children and young people. Your work is varied, developing, and independent, where you always have close access to other professionals and good colleagues. You meet with your fellow social workers regularly every other week in professional meetings where you work together on development issues as well as collegial supervision.

As a school social worker, you work on behalf of the principal and together with others in the school's student health team. The work should primarily be preventive and health-promoting but may also involve remedial work, and it should be conducted at the individual, group, and organizational levels. The goal is to create a good environment for students' health, learning, and development. You are responsible for the social and psychosocial perspective in student health, which may involve social mapping, health-promoting work, and working in classes with teachers based on various themes. You also work to promote school attendance, provide consultation/supervision to school staff, offer support and advice to students and parents, and hold network meetings (SiP meetings), etc. In Kungälv Municipality, each school social worker works with 1-3 principals. This position involves work in a K-6 school and a 7-9 school. In the 7-9 school, there are two social workers, which means you will have a very close colleague to collaborate and exchange experiences with.

Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work
• High level of proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.
• Driver's license (B) and access to a car are required.
• Training in NPF is an advantage.
• Training in low-affect responses is an advantage.
• Experience working in schools is an advantage.

You should have good collaboration skills, the ability to build relationships, and the ability to see the whole picture regarding an individual and a situation. The work requires good independence, structure, and flexibility.

The position requires you to have a driver's license (B) and access to a car as needed.
