Personal Assistant for 13-Year-Old Boy Who Loves Video Games, 50 - 75% Kållered

We are looking for engaged and reliable personal assistants for Loui, who will turn 13 this summer.

Loui is a cheerful and outgoing boy with a great interest in video games, and gaming is his absolute favorite hobby! Therefore, it’s a plus if you enjoy playing yourself or can support him in his interest. You don’t need to be a pro; willingness goes a long way. This can involve everything from playing together to hanging out while he plays and just spending time together.

In addition to his interests, he needs help with everything in his daily life, such as personal hygiene, eating, and mobility, etc. Loui cannot walk or sit without assistive devices, as he has spastic CP that affects his entire body.

He uses several assistive devices, including a wheelchair, electric wheelchair, and work chair. Therefore, you need to be comfortable working with assistive devices (experience is a plus, but personal chemistry and willingness to learn are most important). A ceiling lift is available, but manual lifts need to be performed when necessary.

Besides gaming, Loui enjoys taking the bus and going on small trips, such as to the mall, etc. We have noticed over time that now that he is getting older, he prefers to be at home in his safe space, which is why most of the working hours take place at home.

We are looking for someone who

• Is responsible and attentive
• Has a genuine interest in working with children/youth, preferably with previous experience in this
• Shares Loui's gaming interest
• Is reliable and has a positive attitude

Requirements

• Fluent Swedish in speech and writing is a requirement to communicate with Loui. He communicates with simple words like “yes, no” verbally, and the rest through his computer that assists him.

The scope of the position, working hours, and employment form vary. Working hours mainly apply from around 16:00 on weekdays but full days during weekends and holidays. During the daytime, he is at school, and he does not have a personal assistant with him there.

We are looking for someone who can work at least 50% and also during the summer and who is willing to continue into the fall, meaning no one who only wants to work during the summer.

The position starts as a temporary employment but may transition to a fixed-term employment as long as the assistance task lasts with the agreed-upon working hours (50-75%). We place great emphasis on personal suitability and chemistry. It is important that you can create a safe and fun everyday life together with Loui and see it as a long-term collaboration if you get along well.
