Welcome to Alingsås!

As an employee in our municipality, you have all the opportunities to help develop the operations and your workplace. With nearly 4000 employees, we are large enough to drive change and small enough for everyone to influence and have space for their ideas. There is room for innovation here. Together we create Alingsås!

The Social Administration is housed in a spacious brick building from 1888 – a former candy factory. Here, the different units of the social administration are gathered, which creates good conditions for collaboration. We have fixed workplaces, and most have their own office room.

Alingsås is a bike-friendly city, and we use service bikes for shorter trips. For longer journeys, there is a well-maintained car fleet. If you come by your own car, there is free parking during working hours, and there are good commuting options. In the lunchroom, there is a café host who contributes to a pleasant environment.

The units for Children & Youth consist of three investigation groups and a joint reception and method support. The target group is children and young people aged 0–18 years and their parents. We actively work together on work environment, well-being, participation, and professional development.

We are now expanding our staffing to start a fourth investigation group. This provides better conditions for reasonable workloads, even during peak times or absences. Our goal is for you as a social worker to have time for both quality in your work and balance in life.

With us, you will receive:

  • More colleagues and fewer cases per position
  • Opportunity for co-handling
  • Close supervision through smaller groups and more supervisors
  • Method guidance individually and in groups, as well as external process guidance
  • Method supporters and four senior social workers driving method development
  • Well-functioning forums for internal and external collaboration
  • Time for conversations and qualitative work
  • Early collaboration with, for example, family support

To give you a good start, we offer:

  • A thorough introduction based on our introduction program
  • Accessible and experienced management
  • Professional development and opportunities for further professional growth
  • A three-day internal training in Signs of Safety
  • Weekly reflection time
  • Work organized in phases, allowing periods where you can focus on existing cases without taking on new ones
  • Flexible working hours and the possibility of remote work
  • Wellness benefits, including for the fitness center in the building
  • Bicycle benefits
  • Opportunity to exchange vacation pay for extra days off

Warm welcome with your application!
