Business Specialist in Metadata Management and Digital Infrastructure

Do you have a strong interest in science, data, and the digital challenges of research? We are now strengthening our team with a business specialist in metadata management and digital infrastructure. In this role, you will collaborate with authorities and participate in international projects aimed at establishing metadata-driven processes and digital capabilities that support research on registry and health data.

Role Description and Responsibilities

As a business specialist in metadata, you will play an active role in the Swedish Research Council's efforts to improve the conditions for research based on individual data. You will be part of the team developing the Register Utiliser Tool (RUT) – a metadata infrastructure for registry and health data. The work focuses on developing RUT's capabilities to support researchers' needs, as well as how metadata can contribute to streamlining and digitizing the process of requesting data for research. You will represent the Swedish Research Council in collaborations and projects within your areas of responsibility. Travel, mainly within Sweden, may occur.

Your Responsibilities Include:

  • Initiating and driving activities that develop RUT's capabilities to support researchers' needs for FAIR metadata
  • Initiating and driving activities that develop RUT's capabilities to streamline the processes surrounding data requests and support for data holders
  • Providing expert support within statistical metadata frameworks and standards
  • Planning meetings and consultations independently, together with other employees or external parties
  • Representing the authority in national and international collaborations within metadata and digital infrastructure for research
  • Collaborating with experts in your areas to safeguard the interests of the authority and other Swedish actors
  • Cooperating and supporting internal work within your areas of responsibility
  • Preparing and presenting analyses and proposals for decisions

You have a good ability to independently plan, organize, and drive your tasks in a structured manner, while also being flexible and able to adapt when circumstances change. Furthermore, you are attentive, service-oriented, and used to solving problems independently as well as in consultation with others.

In addition to personal qualities, you also need to have:

  • A university degree in a field relevant to digital infrastructures
  • Experience working with conceptual and information models
  • Experience working with standards or frameworks for metadata
  • Experience working with classifications within the registry and health data area
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience representing in governmental collaborations or equivalent
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English in both spoken and written form

It is advantageous if you have:

  • Experience in international metadata collaboration
  • Experience in agile work within system development
  • Worked with research information
  • Worked with research support services
  • Worked with registry platforms and/or journal systems
  • Experience working on projects within EU programs, preferably Horizon Europe, EU4Health, or the Digital program

Location

Our office is activity-based and located at Hantverkargatan 11 in central Stockholm. If the tasks allow, there is an opportunity to work remotely part-time.

Employment Type and Start Date

We offer a permanent full-time position with a 6-month probationary period. We hope you can start as soon as possible, considering any notice period.
