Operations Coordinator for Barnahus Blekinge

Are you passionate about children's safety and want to make a difference? Karlskrona Municipality is now looking for two operations coordinators to build and lead Barnahus Blekinge – a newly created service where all social services, prosecutors, police, and healthcare in Blekinge municipalities work together for the best interest of the child.

Barnahus Blekinge is a newly started service within our department, operated in collaboration between Blekinge's five municipalities, Region Blekinge, the Police, and the Prosecutor's Office. Barnahus gathers several authorities under one roof so that children suspected of having been subjected to crimes can receive investigation and support in a safe, child-friendly environment. Karlskrona Municipality is the host municipality and is responsible for the premises and staff according to the joint cooperation agreement. Barnahus is currently in an implementation phase with a planned start during the summer. The team consists of two full-time operations coordinators and a unit manager (50%). We are now recruiting two operations coordinators who, together with the unit manager, will build and drive the operational work of Barnahus Blekinge.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In the role of operations coordinator, you will have a central, coordinating function at Barnahus. You will, among other things:

  • Plan, convene, and lead regular Barnahus consultation meetings (and urgent consultations as needed) where social services, police, prosecutors, pediatricians, and First Line together plan and follow up on the interventions in each case.
  • Be a central contact point at Barnahus you welcome children and parents/caregivers when they arrive at Barnahus premises and ensure that the environment feels safe and child-friendly. At the same time, you act as a coordinator support for the professionals working around the child, ensuring smooth communication.
  • Coordinate the Barnahus working group you will convene the working group, where representatives from the various collaborating partners meet regularly to develop the routines and working methods of the service.
  • Administer and follow up on the operations you are responsible for Barnahus' cohesive documentation and statistics.
  • You plan joint training and exercises for the professionals working in the Barnahus network, with the aim of continuously raising competence and strengthening cooperation. The role also includes spreading knowledge about Barnahus Blekinge.
  • Together with the unit manager, you are responsible for ensuring that cooperation within Barnahus is continuously improved and adapted based on the needs of the children.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: You have a degree in social work or another academic education that the employer assesses as equivalent and relevant for the position.
  • Experience: You have several years of experience working within social services' individual and family care. Particularly meritorious is experience from social services' child and youth care, work with victims of violence, or similar activities where you have encountered children and families in vulnerable life situations. It is also positive if you have experience working in collaboration with other authorities.
  • Knowledge: You are well acquainted with the mission, regulations, and interventions of social services. Good knowledge of other actors' responsibilities in the area (e.g., the police's investigation process, healthcare's support measures for children) is an advantage this helps you navigate in the interdisciplinary environment.
  • Other: The position requires you to express yourself fluently in Swedish, both orally and in writing. A B driver's license is required as travel within the county may occur.

  • Are communicative and pedagogical you can explain and convey information clearly, both orally and in writing, to both families and collaborating actors. You enjoy sharing knowledge and supporting others to grow in their roles, for example through supervision or training initiatives.
  • Have commitment and empathy you are driven by a desire to improve children's living situations and provide them support in difficult times. You have a high degree of empathetic ability and a respectful approach. You understand the importance of children's rights and privacy, and you have the child's best interest in mind in every decision you make.
