About the company
The mission of Kiruna Malmförädling is to refine ore from mine to finished product. The main parts of the process are screening, concentrating, and pelletizing. The department consists of a total of eight sections, four of which are part of the main process and the other four are support sections within quality, technology and process development, material processes, and maintenance. Your role
As an Environmental Process Engineer/Technician, you play a key role in ensuring that our operations meet all environmental requirements and commitments related to our environmental facilities, such as flue gas cleaning and dust removal. You drive the process technology development forward and actively contribute to reducing environmental emissions.
In your role, you represent Pellets Plant 2 & 3 (KK2/KK3) in environmental matters and have a central function in collaboration with environmental, research, and marketing departments. You participate in reporting and meetings with supervisory authorities and work closely with process engineers, process operators, and operational staff to optimize our environmental performance.
You are also part of the management team for KK2/KK3 and collaborate with the corresponding role within Pellets Plant 4 (KK4) to strengthen and develop the business as a whole.
What you bring with you
We are looking for a driven and engaged person with a strong interest in environmental and process technology. You have a structured and analytical ability that allows you to understand complex problems and find effective solutions. You also have strong planning skills and enjoy working both independently and in teams. With your good communication and collaboration skills, you create a good dialogue and work effectively with various departments to drive both operational and development-oriented projects forward.
In addition, you have:
- Higher education with a process technology focus in chemistry, environment, or physics. Alternatively, equivalent knowledge acquired through other education or relevant experience in environmental facilities and process industry
- Fluent Swedish in speech and writing
- Approved high school grades
- Driver's license B, which is a requirement for all positions at LKAB
Meritorious:
- Good knowledge of Excel for analysis and handling of environmental and process technology data
- Experience with 800xA, which is an advantage for work with control systems in the process industry
