Transmission Operator
The Teleoperation Center is part of FMTIS Operations Unit and is responsible for operational monitoring and management of the Swedish Armed Forces' telecommunications network. We are now looking for a transmission operator for our operations center in Örebro.
About the Unit
The Operations Unit belonging to FMTIS conducts operational monitoring, maintenance, and remote troubleshooting measures within the FM strategic networks, which is a prerequisite for the Armed Forces' command capability in peace, crisis, and war.
Main Responsibilities
The position as a transmission operator at the Network Operations Department involves a varied job where you will monitor and manage a variety of systems. You will receive, analyze, and register deviations in networks, services, and equipment, as well as initiate and follow up on troubleshooting at external facilities.
As a transmission operator, you will receive basic training in all areas of specialization within the Network Operations Department: Transmission, IP, Satellite Communication, and Radio/Sensor, but you will specialize in transmission.
The position includes continuous professional development involving several internal and external courses and training. This means some travel to other locations to conduct these courses and training. Furthermore, the position means that you will partially serve as the on-duty system operator, which involves working irregular hours, including on-call and standby duties. These occasions will be planned in consultation with the employer to enable a good balance between work and leisure.

Qualifications
- At least a high school education with a technical focus or equivalent that can be assessed as equivalent by the employer.
- Good knowledge of transmission technology: WDM, Radio Links, PDH/SDH, Telephone Exchanges
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
- Swedish citizenship
- Driver's license B.
Meritorious
- Experience in operational monitoring and case management for large operational activities.
- Knowledge of IP technology, TCP/IP, routing/routing protocols, switching, and DNS.
- Knowledge of network technology and firewall systems.
- Knowledge of radar technology or radio systems.

Other
The position is a permanent employment as a civilian employee and begins with a six-month probationary period for those who are not employed within the Armed Forces.
Work location: Örebro. Work at other locations and business trips may occur.
The position is full-time, usually weekdays, but on-call, standby, overtime, and FM days may occur.
Upon employment, you will be placed in wartime service.
Start date: According to agreement
