Your mission

Alingsås Vocational School is now looking for an engaged special education teacher with a focus on mathematics for a fixed-term employment of 100% for one year, with the possibility of extension.

As a special education teacher with us, you work closely with students and support those in need of special assistance in all subjects, with a particular focus and in-depth competence in mathematics. You conduct pedagogical assessments, analyze students' needs, and plan, implement, and follow up on support measures – both individually and in smaller groups.

You collaborate closely with teaching teachers in both general subjects and vocational subjects to create accessible learning environments and adaptations that make the teaching understandable, structured, and relevant for students in vocational programs. In mathematics, you have a particularly driving and developing role, where you contribute to strengthening students' knowledge development and goal fulfillment.

You are part of the school's student health work and participate in the work with extra adaptations, special support, and action programs. Documentation and follow-up are included in the position. The work is carried out in accordance with applicable governing documents.

About the school

Alingsås Vocational School is a growing school with approximately 100 students in the programs Hairdressing and Vehicle and Transport. We offer vocational training where theory and practice are combined – both at school and out in workplaces.

Our teaching is characterized by closeness, flexibility, and practical learning. The collegial collaboration is strong, and we work closely together between vocational subjects and general subjects. With us, you meet students with creativity, vocational focus, and varying educational backgrounds.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• is a licensed teacher with a special education degree
• has a focus on mathematics
• has experience working with students in need of special support
• has a good ability to analyze students' learning and adapt teaching and support measures accordingly
• is secure, clear, and relationship-building in your leadership
• wants to work both operationally with students and guiding colleagues
• shares the school's values and wants to work closely with students

Meritorious:

• experience working in high school, preferably within vocational programs
• authorization to teach in more subjects
• experience of pedagogical investigations and action programs
