Substitute Childcare Worker for Northern Skarpnäck Preschools

Workplace Description

The Northern Skarpnäck preschools consist of thirteen preschools in the district that collaborate on pedagogical development. This is reflected in a joint internal training program and shared services that support the pedagogical content.

The preschools have beautiful indoor environments, and we have fantastic nature surrounding our preschools that provide endless opportunities for children to engage with nature, movement, and play. Our preschool environments should attract, inspire, and challenge children in play towards learning and exploration together with other children and staff.

Job Description

We are now looking for substitute childcare workers for our preschools in the Northern Skarpnäck preschool area. The position runs from April to June 2026, with good chances of extension in the autumn term.

Your role as a substitute is to work together with the preschool teacher and other colleagues to create a rich content for the children, where you as adults are active and co-explorative with the children, both in planned teaching and in the spontaneous moments that arise during the day – both indoors and outdoors.

We hope to find you who have experience in being an active and present person for the children in preschool based on a plan, but also independently, so that they have a safe and educational time in preschool.

We are looking for someone who understands the importance of good and close collaboration with all colleagues at the preschool, all our guardians, and other close individuals in the child's environment. You can build trust and confidence in a professional manner and have a focus on collaboration and finding solutions together that benefit our children.

Qualifications

The position requires you to master the Swedish language and be able to communicate in Swedish both verbally and in writing. You should be a trained childcare worker and feel comfortable working both independently and in a group. We would like you to have experience working in a Reggio Emilia-inspired approach.

It is important that you as a childcare worker are present and active with the children. You show joy, curiosity, and engagement in the children's exploration, and it is important that you ask the staff what you should do or what they expect from you.

At our preschools, we work to ensure that children succeed and feel good throughout the day. The prerequisite for this is that we, as adults, always take responsibility for situations that arise. We respond, meet, and acknowledge the children, showing them that they are important and that their words and actions are taken seriously.

Our families are used to a well-functioning operation, and there is great trust in our preschools, which means that you are also expected to greet everyone kindly and friendly, for example, by introducing yourself and greeting all children and families when you are together outside in the yard.
