The Sámi School Board is a government authority with its office located in Jåhkåmåhkke, including a school principal, controllers, HR, and administrators.

The Sámi school is an educational form equivalent to primary school, offering education from preschool class to grade 6. The foundation of the teaching is based on Sámi culture and the Sámi language according to the curriculum for Sámi schools. The Sámi School Board also operates preschools in agreement with the respective municipalities. The Sámi School Board has operations in Giron, Gárasavvon, Váhtjer, Jåhkåmåhkke, and Dearna.

The Sámi School Board organizes distance education in the Sámi languages and supports the development and production of teaching materials for Sámi education.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan, implement, and evaluate teaching in accordance with the preschool's governing documents and from a Sámi perspective, both individually and in teams. You will actively participate in developing successful learning environments together with others at the preschool. Collaborate with staff on other tasks at the preschool.

QUALIFICATIONS

Preschool teacher degree with a valid teaching license, or other education deemed suitable by the employer. You must be proficient in Sámi, both orally and in writing. You have a positive view of people and the ability to create good relationships as well as the ability to prevent and resolve conflicts. You are meticulous, flexible, and responsive to the needs of students and enjoy working with children and youth. We are looking for someone with documented good collaboration skills. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.
