In the city center, you will find Luleå Gymnasieby, a campus area that gathers most of the municipal upper secondary education programs with nearly 2,300 students. Students at Luleå Gymnasieby are given the prerequisites for lifelong learning by focusing on knowledge, participation, responsibility, and leadership, preparing them for working life and as citizens. Contacts with the business community are numerous, and in local steering groups, the business community collaborates with the upper secondary school to create good conditions for students to be well-prepared for the time after their upper secondary education.
The upper secondary school also offers specialized programs in mathematics & physics, nationally approved sports programs, the National Basketball High School, and LIP with International Baccalaureate.

Job Responsibilities
We are seeking a High School Teacher in Physics and Mathematics for Luleå Upper Secondary School to teach at Luleå Upper Secondary School International Programme (LIP), including the preparatory class Pre-DP and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP).
The language of instruction is English. Within the IB framework, work is conducted according to a different curriculum and other regulatory documents. For those who have not yet completed IB's Professional Development Category 1, undertaking such training is included in the role.
You will be part of both a working group with teachers within the program and a subject group with subject colleagues within the campus. We are looking for teachers who wish to collaborate, both within the subject and within the program. We view active mentoring and safe leadership in the classroom as necessities for good goal achievement.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a teacher's degree and a teaching license with a focus on physics and mathematics for upper secondary school. Qualifications in other subjects, especially natural sciences, for upper secondary school are an asset. You must have very good skills in English and an interest in furthering your education within International Baccalaureate as a school form.
If you do not have a teacher's degree or teaching license in the above, you can still apply for this position.
This job suits you if you have good collaboration skills, can handle many issues simultaneously, have the ability for structure and organization, and have experience working with students. You must also be able to express yourself well in speech and writing in English. We will place great importance on your personal qualities. Relevant experience is required.
