Hakkasskolan in the village of Hakkas is a spacious primary school located in the countryside of Gällivare municipality. It includes preschool class, after-school care, and grades 1-9. The school has about 70 students from Hakkas and the surrounding villages, with some new arrivals. The school has close access to a swimming pool and large natural areas used in all student activities. Hakkasskolan is a small school where we develop close relationships and dare to succeed and fail together. Our vision is "For a future where everything is possible!" We are constantly developing our teaching and learning environments to provide students with the best possible conditions for learning. Hakkasskolan has been granted an ERASMUS+ accreditation for 2021-2027. This means continuous collaborative projects with other schools across Europe, with opportunities for travel within the job for all participating educators. The goals of the ERASMUS+ work are to collaborate with other schools in Europe that have similar challenges to ours, to strengthen students' motivation to learn multiple languages, further develop distance learning, and provide students and teachers with the opportunity to view their own hometown from new perspectives.

Job Responsibilities

As an educator at Hakkas school, you will work with everything related to teaching. You prepare, plan, implement, and evaluate students' progress and your own teaching. You work closely with guardians. You actively participate in school meetings and in your own development as well as that of the school. Most educators also work as responsible mentors in a class.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has a teaching license in Swedish for grades 7-9 and has a present and attentive approach to students' various needs, is a clear leader, and has good collaboration skills. You are independent, responsible, and easily take your own initiatives. We develop our work through pedagogical conversations and collegial learning and see it as a strength to be able to help each other to dare to be curious about new ways of working.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Upon employment, we require a criminal record extract from the police.

Within the framework of the national minority language law, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.

Working Hours/Duration

Full-time, permanent employment, a probationary period may apply.
