Within Adult Education, we offer municipal adult education; basic and upper secondary adult education and education in Swedish for immigrants, special education for adults, vocational training, commissioned training, and learning center activities. We provide training and courses both in-house and in collaboration with external educational providers, during the day/evening or remotely, always based on individual needs.

The working hours are scheduled during the day - Monday to Friday, with one evening shift per week. Regular working hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The evening shift is scheduled from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

You will teach adult students in Swedish as a second language at SFI level. You will be part of a team together with teachers in the same subject, i.e., Swedish as a second language, and special education teachers. The role also includes evening teaching, and there may also be teaching at workplaces in Luleå Municipality.

The work as an SFI teacher involves:

• teaching SFI across all study paths and SFI courses
• motivating and guiding students to achieve good study results
• responsibility for lesson planning and documentation
• assessing students' development based on current curricula
• close collaboration with colleagues in structured collegial learning and joint assessment
• being prepared to teach remotely (digitally) as well as in-class teaching

QUALIFICATIONS

The applicant should have a teaching degree with a focus on Swedish as a second language and a teaching license for adult education. You have good experience using digital tools both in teaching and for documentation, and view digital aids as a natural part of your pedagogical toolbox.

To succeed in this role, you are skilled at building and developing relationships with both students and colleagues to create the best possible conditions for learning and collaboration. You have the ability to work independently and take responsibility for your tasks while contributing to a positive work climate by offering support to colleagues and being open to receiving help when needed.

You are solution-oriented and can easily identify obstacles in teaching and find constructive ways forward. In meeting adult students from diverse backgrounds, your ability to adapt and handle pedagogical challenges is crucial for making the teaching meaningful and effective. You also have the ability to plan and organize your work efficiently.
