Engaged SFI Teacher Wanted for VuxPuls

Within Adult Education, we offer municipal adult education; basic and upper secondary adult education, Swedish for immigrants, special education for adults, vocational training, commissioned training, and learning center activities. We provide education and courses both on our own and in collaboration with external education providers, during the day/evening or online, always based on individual needs.

The position is part of the VuxPuls project, which combines distance learning with workplace connections and local community integration. The assignment also includes evening teaching with hybrid solutions and teaching at workplaces within Luleå Municipality.

Working hours are scheduled during the day - Monday to Friday, with one evening shift per week according to a rotating schedule. Regular working hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The evening shift is scheduled from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for an engaged SFI teacher who wants to teach adult students Swedish as a second language at the SFI level. You will be part of a team together with other SFI teachers and special educators.

The work as an SFI teacher includes overall:

• Teaching SFI across all study paths and courses
• Motivating and guiding students to achieve good study results
• Responsible for lesson planning and documentation
• Assessing students' development based on applicable curricula
• Collaborating closely with colleagues in structured collegial learning and co-assessment
• Conducting teaching both on-site and online

Extended assignments within VuxPuls include, among other things:

• Collaborating with employers and the local community, as well as project leaders, to strengthen the connection between education, working life, and society
• Developing workplace-adapted teaching materials in collaboration with businesses and community actors that promote practical language use
• Participating in events and workshops that promote integration and community connection, such as theme nights and networking meetings
• Conducting hybrid evening lessons in the VuxPuls facility with both physical and digital participants

QUALIFICATIONS

Primarily, we are looking for you who are a licensed teacher with qualifications in Swedish as a second language at the basic level, but we also welcome applicants with other qualifications.

To succeed in this role, you need to be flexible, have the ability to quickly adapt to changes, and prioritize when circumstances shift. The pace of work can be high during certain periods, which requires you to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain focus even when there is a lot happening. At the same time, we value quality and precision in everything we do.

A large part of the teaching and pedagogical documentation takes place digitally, which means you need to have good digital competence. Furthermore, we appreciate that you are a team player who values collaboration and wants to develop, and grow together with your colleagues. You also have the ability to plan and organize your work efficiently.
