Care Assistant for Elderly Home in Skövde
The elderly home is a safe living arrangement for older adults with significant daily care and support needs, as well as for individuals with dementia. We have eight elderly homes located both centrally and in our surrounding areas. The operation is part of the care and support sector of Skövde municipality.
The care and support sector has an important societal mission. We work with support, service, care, and assistance for people of all ages, and our operations are characterized by professionalism and human values.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We are now looking for a new employee for our night staff!
We are looking for someone who wants an exciting and developing job. In the role of care assistant with us, you have the opportunity to help create the best living environment for our users. Our work is based on our guiding principles of safety, responsibility, and respectful treatment, and you are a large and important part of the residents' well-being. You work carefully and professionally with the user, in collaboration with others in the work team. This also means working for good cooperation with other professional groups and relatives.
As a care assistant, you are responsible for ensuring that our users, based on their individual needs, receive support and care, health and medical services. The assignment also includes performing delegated and prescribed medical interventions, according to the Health and Medical Services Act (HSL).
Documentation in our systems is also an important part of the job.
Within the care and support sector, we work flexibly between the different units. This means that you will also work shifts in other departments and other elderly homes than the one you normally work in.

QUALIFICATIONS
To work as a care assistant with us, you need to have a completed high school education from the health and care program or equivalent. It is an advantage if you have had other similar jobs, preferably with a specialization in dementia, elderly care, or welfare technology, and if you have previous experience with delegated tasks.
As a person, you need to be responsible and service-oriented, putting the individual's needs at the center. You are good at collaborating with colleagues, users, relatives, and other partners both within and outside your own organization. We believe that we build a better operation through collaboration and development together with others. You find it easy to create relationships and have a respectful approach.
In this role, it is important that you can communicate verbally and in writing in Swedish, as you and the user need to understand each other, but also to carry out documentation. You are computer literate and preferably have experience with social documentation.
Skövde municipality is a Finnish administrative area; if you have knowledge of the Finnish language, it is especially welcome.

Upon employment, a police background check must be presented.
As of July 1, 2023, the title of care assistant became a protected professional title. This means that a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare is required to use the title of care assistant within care and support. Read more on the National Board of Health and Welfare's website.
