Occupational Therapist for Forensic Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic and Inpatient Ward

NU Healthcare is part of the Västra Götaland Region and is one of Sweden's larger county hospitals. We are located at NÄL (Northern Älvsborg County Hospital) in Trollhättan and Uddevalla Hospital. The hospital's catchment area encompasses 280,000 residents. Together, we are about 5,000 employees who work every day to provide good and safe specialist healthcare. We are located on the west coast, and our area offers varied nature with both sea, mountains, forests, and lakes.

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist for our Forensic Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic and Inpatient Ward, Brinkåsen!

Business Description

The forensic psychiatry at Brinkåsen consists of a total of five wards with different focuses. Common to all wards is that our patients are sentenced to forensic psychiatric care. The facility offers a health-promoting care environment where the operations are conducted in modern and purpose-adapted premises.

We also have a forensic psychiatric outpatient clinic whose mission is to be the link between closed and open forensic psychiatric care. Our mission is to increase the patient's mental health through individual care and treatment and to prevent recidivism.

At Brinkåsen, you will be one of four occupational therapists working to ensure that patients have as functional a daily life as possible during and after their treatment.

Job Description

The position we offer involves 50% work with one of our wards and 50% with our outpatient clinic. In the part of the work where you work with the ward, the tasks include conducting activity and functional assessments as well as planning and executing individual treatment interventions. You will also be responsible for conveying occupational therapy information to other parties and supervising staff.

The other part of the position, which is with our newly opened outpatient clinic, offers great opportunities to help shape content and tasks with others in the team. The focus will be on following up, evaluating, and adapting, as well as supervising other staff from an occupational therapy perspective for patients in open forensic psychiatric care.

Do you want a fun job where you have the opportunity to work with your occupational therapy skills and develop in your profession? Then you are the one we are looking for!

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed occupational therapist. Experience in psychiatric care and the use of assessment instruments is meritorious. We value qualities such as flexibility, social competence, and the ability to work both independently and in a team. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. The position requires a B driver's license.

Other

As an occupational therapist with us, you will receive extensive training, and you will always have close contact with occupational therapy colleagues. We have both a network for occupational therapists within adult psychiatry in NU Healthcare and a national network for occupational therapists in forensic psychiatry. Within both networks, continuous professional meetings take place with opportunities for development, change work, and collaboration with other occupational therapists.

As an employee with us, you have a favorable wellness allowance. You also have the benefit of free health care visits. At our facility, you have access to excellent staff facilities that include a gym and sauna.

Interviews may take place continuously throughout the application period. When filling a position in psychiatry, we always request an extract from the Criminal and Misconduct Register. This request is handled by the employer.
