Case Officer for Disclosure of Public Documents
The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society becomes safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, detention centers, and client transport.
The Legal Department at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service consists of four units, where case officers for the disclosure of public documents belong to the Unit for Information Management. The disclosure function has a close relationship with the registry, and we see it as a positive if you have education or experience in registry work.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a case officer, you will handle cases regarding the disclosure of public documents and the confidentiality assessment of these. Your tasks include searching, copying, and dispatching documents, administering fee collection, and managing registered cases. You will prepare proposals for decisions regarding the disclosure of information. The job also involves responding to inquiries from the public by phone to some extent. The work as a case officer is independent and varied, involving ongoing contacts with the public, other authorities, and other parts of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's operations.
QUALIFICATIONS

It is crucial to be meticulous and aware of goals and quality standards.

We are looking for someone who has:
- Legal education or experience deemed equivalent
- Experience in handling cases regarding the disclosure of public documents
- Experience in administrative work within a government authority
- Very good knowledge of public access and confidentiality legislation
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish
It is an advantage if you have:
- Education in public access and confidentiality
- Education in archive legislation
- Experience working with archive legislation
- Experience working with legal issues within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
- Good knowledge of the case management system Platina
- Good knowledge of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's client administrative case management system (KVR)
- Good knowledge of PDF X-change or equivalent software for redaction
