Your Role
Do you want to lead a section of software engineers working on products that make a difference for Saab's customers? Within Saab's business area Aeronautics, there is the Mission Support System 4 section, which develops and maintains products used for Gripen Mission planning. We are looking for someone who wants to lead this important and fun work!
As the section manager for Mission Support Systems 4, you will have both personnel and operational responsibility for the section, which currently consists of 17 employees. This means operational leadership with a focus on managing the section, developing the group, and personnel responsibility for the section's employees - a multifaceted, challenging, fun, and developing assignment.
The work is done together with your most important resource, namely the knowledgeable and driven system and software developers who form the backbone of your team. You will work with their long-term development needs as well as daily conditions within the team.
You will also be part of the area's management group where you will help develop the entire area's capabilities in terms of strategies, common personnel issues, and support between sections. You will work in the management group to increase participation and synergies between your section and the area's other operations. You will also interact with clients and other partners from various departments within Aeronautics.
Your Profile
We are looking for someone who enjoys driving an operation and representing it, both within the organization and externally. As a person, you are driven, engaged, and responsible, and you thrive on working strategically. You have no problem as a leader taking responsibility for, managing, and prioritizing your operation as needed. You are communicative and have a strong interest in leadership and developing your employees.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability as the position is based on trust and confidence from both employees and the area's management group.
It is an advantage if you have:
- Leadership experience
- Experience in software development and agile processes
- Experience leading improvement work.
The work is primarily based in Linköping, but travel within primarily Sweden may occur.
The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable security protection regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, involve requirements for certain citizenship.
