Your Mission

Sandarne School is now looking for a leisure teacher for a temporary position starting in May and continuing until the end of the school year 2026/2027.

In the role of leisure teacher, you will, together with your colleagues, be responsible for ensuring that the teaching stimulates students' development and learning by starting from their needs, interests, and experiences. The position at the leisure center is combined with a position in the school, and you will be part of a work team that regularly plans and evaluates the activities. Together, you will work to provide students with the best conditions for learning and development.

Important guiding principles when planning activities are student influence and participation. You will also be involved in taking responsibility for the school's break activities.

Workplace Description

Sandarne School conducts active and continuous value-based work. The important ingredients in this are safety, influence, and ensuring that everyone meets the knowledge requirements and feels good. Employees and students have collaboratively developed six guiding principles that apply at the school: respect, helpfulness, responsibility, self-reliance, care, and cooperation. The value-based work also permeates our leisure center. The goal is for the leisure center to complement the education in the school.

Sandarne School is a F-6 school located about 7 kilometers south of Söderhamn's central area. Currently, about 140 students attend the school, of which approximately 80 students also attend our leisure center, Skärgårn. The number of employees is around 20. The school was built in 1919 and has a fantastic view of Söderhamn Bay. The school's indoor environment is bright and pleasant with its large windows facing the water.

Your Competence

We are looking for a certified teacher with a focus on leisure education. It is an advantage if you have previous experience working in leisure centers as well as schools.

As a leisure teacher with us at Sandarne School, it is important that you are a person who is stable, secure, and has good self-awareness. You are self-driven and take responsibility for your tasks, have the ability to adapt to different situations, and always consider the bigger picture.

Furthermore, you find it easy to work with other people, and you have the ability to listen, communicate clearly, and resolve any conflicts constructively. As a person, you are calm and accommodating, and you have a great interest in helping others. You communicate clearly and ensure that messages are conveyed and that expectations are clear for all parties involved.
