About us

FoU in Sörmland (FoUiS) is a regional resource for research and development within social services and the adjacent health care in Sörmland. The organization has existed since 2002 and is jointly owned by Region Sörmland and the nine municipalities in the county. Our main mission is to support the work with evidence-based practice, with a particular focus on knowledge development, knowledge utilization, and knowledge dissemination throughout the county. The organization consists of 11 employees, including a manager, research leader, doctoral students, statisticians, and communicators.

We are now looking for a doctoral student for a research project focusing on fall prevention.

The project aims to develop, test, evaluate, and implement a cross-border collaboration model for fall prevention work. A central goal is to investigate how the model can be organized and introduced in collaboration between municipalities, regions, and civil society. The project builds on a previous research project where a train-the-trainer method and a specific training program have been studied in a randomized controlled trial. These experiences are now being utilized in the continued development and implementation work. The project uses a participatory research design where researchers, clinicians, and the target group co-create new knowledge according to an interactive research approach. Both qualitative and quantitative methods will be used.

Your tasks

The position involves travel within Sörmland, primarily to Eskilstuna, Nyköping, and Gnesta, which are the project's collaboration partners. You will conduct training that includes both theory and practice related to training and leadership, as the project focuses on knowledge transfer from healthcare to civil society to enable early and preventive interventions. The development of the project plan and application for doctoral education will occur once the doctoral student has taken up the position. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Your qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a licensed physiotherapist, preferably with specialist training in elderly health. You have documented good pedagogical and training-leading skills and at least a blue belt in judo. Furthermore, you have experience in driving fall prevention work at a tactical or strategic level within care and welfare and are accustomed to implementation and improvement work in a leading or convening role. You also have a good ability to collaborate with various stakeholders both within and outside of care and welfare, as well as experience in leading workshops. You are proficient in both Swedish and English, both spoken and written, and have a very good ability to express yourself clearly in both shorter and longer texts. A driver's license is required. We place great importance on personal qualities.

Employment form

Fixed-term project employment for 4 years. Start date May 5, or by agreement.
