As a teacher with us, you will work with a wonderful group of students who stimulate the development of your own teaching every day. Our special needs school in Eskilstuna is integrated into two primary schools, Djurgårdsskolan and Årbyskolan. Together, we welcome around 140 students from grades 1-9 with varying degrees of intellectual/physical disabilities, and some of the students also have neuropsychiatric diagnoses.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a teacher in wood and metal crafts, you provide our students with the opportunity to develop their creative sides. You plan, lead, and develop the teaching, creating conditions to achieve the goals according to the special needs school's curriculum. The position is divided between two schools. You will teach grades 3-6 at Årbyskolan and grades 7-9 at Djurgårdsskolan. You will collaborate closely with other teachers in the school's core subjects, class teachers, and teaching assistants. During lessons, teaching assistants are present to support the student group. The lesson structure is built using clear pedagogical methods such as visual aids and compensatory support.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a teaching degree and teaching license with authorization to teach wood and metal crafts for the relevant grades. Alternatively, you may be in the process of completing a degree soon. It is a plus if you have experience teaching in educational settings and feel comfortable with Lgr22 or Lgra22. Additionally, experience working with students in need of special support is highly meritorious.

You have a strong student focus and a desire to meet each student based on their individual circumstances. You are flexible in your approach and can adapt teaching according to the situation and needs, while also having the ability to keep the group together and create effective group teaching. You work with clarity and structure, creating a safe and predictable learning environment. In your interactions with students, you maintain a low-arousal approach and a calm, stable leadership that contributes to a conducive working atmosphere and trusting relationships.
