Music Teacher Wanted at Ärstaskolan

Ärstaskolan is located three kilometers north of Eskilstuna city center in an area with both villas and apartment buildings. The proximity to the forest encourages students to be active during breaks but is also utilized in teaching. We are a F-6 school with after-school care for students in F-3 and open activities for students in middle school. The school has a family-like atmosphere with engaged and driven staff who collaborate across boundaries. Currently, we have about 200 students and 30 staff members.

The position is a temporary part-time (50%) employment with an immediate start until June 12, 2026.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a music teacher, you will teach students in grades 2-6, either in full or half classes. Through varied and inspiring teaching, you will spark students' engagement and interest in music. You will plan and implement lessons according to the curriculum and encourage students' creativity and musical development. Teaching takes place in the school's equipped music room, and you will actively participate in the school's traditions, such as Lucia celebrations and summer graduations. You will be the sole subject teacher, giving you great freedom to shape the teaching and develop the subject at the school.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a teaching degree and teaching certification with the authorization to teach music, or alternatively, someone who is close to completing their education. It is a plus if you have taught music, preferably for the relevant grades. If you also have practical experience with LGR22, that is an advantage. You need to have good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form, as well as good IT skills since you will use digital tools as part of your teaching.

You have a genuine passion for music and a desire to share your knowledge. As an educator, you are confident, clear, and inspiring - you spark curiosity and create a desire to learn. You take initiative, are proactive in your work, and want to help develop both the teaching and the school's overall operations.
