Björkskataskolan is centrally located in the Björkskatan district. In the school year 2025/26, we have 390 students from grades 7 to 9. Here, experienced and dedicated teachers and educators, leaders, and professionals work. At Björkskataskolan, we believe in creating a good atmosphere together and building relationships among everyone at the school. We have a nice local area with a hockey rink, football field, and basketball court, as well as excellent indoor study environments with good light, air, and sound levels.

At the school, there are two learning studios where resource teachers and special educators work with students to provide extra support. The work teams collaborate with the local student health team, which consists of school management, resource teachers, special educators, counselors, career advisors, and school nurses. We also have a well-functioning student council that provides good opportunities for student influence, leading to engaged students who care about their school and education.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In our learning studio, which is an adapted learning environment where students who need a smaller context can be part of the day, we need reinforcement. Currently, special teachers and resource educators work with students who need support, but we need to further expand with an additional teacher who can meet students' opportunities to achieve their goals.

The work takes place both in smaller groups and individually. The assignments with the students are documented and continuously evaluated together with teachers and the student health team. You will be an important link in the work of developing our students' skills so that they have the tools they need to achieve eligibility for upper secondary school and succeed in working life. You will belong to the school's student health team.

Your tasks include planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching in various subjects within the framework of this activity. It is important that you, as an applicant, have a strong interest and experience in working with children with different support needs.

We are looking for someone who:

  • has a relational approach and focuses on the student
  • has good foundational knowledge in all subjects taught in primary school
  • is easy to collaborate with
  • is accommodating and responsive in your interactions
  • has previous experience working with students in grades 4-9 in need of special support
  • understands the value of working in a team
  • is solution-oriented
  • has knowledge of students with NPF or other functional variations

QUALIFICATIONS

You are a licensed teacher for grades 4-9 with a broad competence in several subjects such as mathematics, Swedish, and/or English.

It is of great importance that you can contribute to the school's core values through a democratic approach and by being a good role model. You have the ability to build relationships with students and among students and can create clear structure and boundaries to ensure a safe and accessible working environment for students. Furthermore, you have the ability to foster good collaboration with guardians as well as with other professionals inside and outside the school. You can express yourself well in both spoken and written language.

If you receive the position, you must submit a valid extract from the criminal record register.

Warm welcome with your application!
