Our delivered patients are cared for in both wards 23 and 25, and we work closely together, which means you can care for postnatal patients in both departments. Ward 25 also has antenatal patients from pregnancy week 22. Ward 23 cares for gynecological patients and operates a gynecological emergency department.

The obstetrics and gynecology area operates at Örebro University Hospital, Lindesberg and Karlskoga hospitals. We actively work to develop research in women's healthcare. At Örebro University Hospital, there is an obstetric section with specialist maternal care and fetal diagnostics, a delivery ward, and postnatal care. The gynecological section offers outpatient, inpatient, and emergency gynecological care. There is also a fertility unit and an operating department.

Örebro University Hospital (USÖ) is one of the county's three acute hospitals where we provide advanced healthcare, research, and education. In both 2020 and 2019, USÖ received the prestigious award for Best University Hospital from Dagens Medicin. USÖ won the most significant category for medical quality, had the best results in accessibility, economy, and the category of avoiding pressure ulcers and overcrowding.
