Electrical Designer at Saab in Halmstad

Your Role

In this role, you will be part of a team that develops and produces Saab's advanced air defense systems. Here, technology and innovation combine with collaboration and precision.

As an electrical designer, you play a central role in the creation and updating of electrical diagrams that form the basis for the systems' functionality and reliability. You are responsible for creating clear, accurate, and production-adapted diagrams that meet applicable standards and customer requirements.

You will work closely with systems engineers, mechanical designers, and production to ensure that the design is technically feasible and documented according to requirements. You are expected to actively contribute to our continuous improvement work, participating in the development of methods, processes, and technical solutions - both in design and manufacturing.

The role also involves working with product care and further development of existing solutions, as well as providing technical support to both the sales organization in early stages and production during construction and assembly.

As an electrical designer with us, you will have a varied and developing role where you are involved in the entire product lifecycle - from concept to finished product.

Examples of tasks:

• Creation and updating of electrical diagrams in AutoCAD Electrical
• Structuring of circuit diagrams, distribution diagrams, and connection diagrams
• Design and construction of special cabling and cable harnesses based on specifications
• Component selection and definition of connection points
• Creation of cable lists, connection tables, and manufacturing documentation
• Ensuring correct reference management, labeling, and document structure
• Change management
• Technical support to production and verification

The position is located in Halmstad. Travel within the country occurs but is generally not considered burdensome. International travel may occur.

Your Profile

We see that you have the ability to understand customer wishes/requirements and can translate this into a technical solution. You should be analytical, meticulous, structured, driven, and curious to learn new things. You can make your own decisions and take responsibility for your deliveries. You have a good ability to collaborate and communicate in project teams.

We are looking for someone who has:

• University or vocational education in electrical engineering/electrical design
• Documented experience in creating and structuring electrical diagrams
• Very good proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical
• Experience with special cabling/wire harness
• Understanding of electrical safety, grounding principles, and EMC
• Experience with technical documentation and change management
• Good Swedish and English in both speech and writing

Experience from the defense industry or other security-classified activities is an advantage.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to applicable security protection regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for certain citizenship.
