Project Engineer in Medical Technology Halland

We are looking for two project engineers for Medical Technology Halland.

One position will be based at the hospital in Halmstad and the other at the hospital in Varberg. Both positions will, however, work across our entire operational area, i.e., Halmstad, Varberg, and Kungsbacka.

Job Responsibilities

Medical Technology Halland works closely with the core activities of healthcare, and we offer an exciting job where you as a project engineer have an important role. Project management is the main task and constitutes a central part of the position.

You will work closely with other project engineers, medical technology engineers, IT engineers, hospital physicists, core healthcare activities, and other stakeholders such as Procurement and Purchasing, IT and digitalization, and Regional Properties.

Your tasks include independently leading and executing projects related to procurement and implementation of new medical technology equipment, information systems, and digital solutions for healthcare, including technology for home healthcare and self-monitoring.

You are responsible for the entire project process – from feasibility study and development of project directives and requirements specifications to procurement, implementation, follow-up, and handover to management – in accordance with Medical Technology Halland's project model. This includes ensuring structure, progress, timelines, risk management, budget, and reporting.

The role also involves driving medical technology issues in connection with organizational changes as well as new and renovation of healthcare facilities, and ensuring that the solutions meet requirements for patient safety, regulatory compliance, and operational benefit, including applicable regulations such as MDR and LOU.

You have a proactive role in monitoring and investigating future medical technology solutions, contributing to the development of project management processes, and, if necessary, supporting the organization with technical advice on medical technology and safety-related issues.

Based on your skills and experience, an individual introduction and training plan will be established with a clear focus on project management in a complex and regulated healthcare environment.

Halland Hospital, Region Halland's largest administration with approximately 4,000 employees, has the task of providing care to patients throughout Halland with service points in Halmstad, Varberg, and Kungsbacka. We have over 70 employees; engineers, technicians, hospital physicists, administrators, etc. We mainly work from three service points located in Halmstad, Varberg, and Kungsbacka.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university degree, preferably with a focus on medical technology, or other education or experience and knowledge that we consider equivalent. You should have several years of experience working in at least one of the areas of public procurement, acquisition of medical technology equipment, and/or project management.

You have several years of experience leading projects from early feasibility studies to implementation and handover to management.

You should also have good IT skills to be able to set the right requirements when procuring medical technology products and information systems. It is important that you can communicate easily and express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and English. You need to be able to work independently, be proactive, and at the same time have the ability to collaborate both internally and with our customers. We also see that you are responsible and work in a structured and meticulous manner and can handle stressful situations.

It is an advantage if you have documented training in project management, procurement, and knowledge of LOU.
